Historical Ohio City Taverns- Great Lakes Brewery!
Join Cleveland historian Tom Kaschalk for a fascinating look at Cleveland’s tavern culture and the neighborhood that helped shape it.
Through historic photographs and lively stories, the presentation explores the immigrant-owned saloons, brewery taverns, and neighborhood bars that became the social centers of Cleveland life.
Because the program takes place at the iconic Great Lakes Brewing Company, the talk will include a special focus on Ohio City’s brewing heritage and taverns through the years, drawing from Kaschalk’s books Cleveland Neighborhood Taverns: A Pub Crawl Through History and his new release Cleveland’s Ohio City Neighborhood.

Tom Kaschalk is a lifelong Clevelander and historical researcher who uncovers the city’s past by solving forgotten mysteries of neighborhoods, families and everyday life. His work brings to life the people and places that shaped Cleveland’s cultural heart.
Book sales and signing will follow the event.
