Why seek help?

You’ve probably already done quite a bit of research on your own. You may have found it easier to find some things than others. Perhaps you have even hit a dead end in your research due to one or more of these issues:

  • Online Searches only provide records (many confusing) and not an understanding of the neighborhood and the impact on daily living.
  • Not all records are digitized. In fact, most reside in very old and brittle record books, ledgers, and plats.
  • You live outside the area or don’t feel comfortable exploring the area.
  • Expense–Many sites direct you to pay to gain further access.
  • Inaccurate and Incomplete Information. Many sites allow researchers to add in records without documentation.
  • Avoid going down rabbit holes. Once your searching, it’s easy to get distracted and off track.
  • Overwhelming Information
    • 10 Million Web Sites
    • One Popular Site has 275,000 links

My Cleveland History has the experience that can help us find the things you still seek. We have more context and historical knowledge of the area and what was happening during the search period. Let us know how we can help you learn more about your history.
